A Short Poem

My Story

Car accidents can be a really scary thing.
I got into a big accident in 2012 that left me devastated and confused.

My 2-door 2006 black Pontiac G6 was destroyed beyond belief by a van that suddenly reversed into a busy street, and it hit me from the side. My car was instantly totaled and I was hurt in the process.

What I remember so vividly about that day was the number of supportive people that came to my aid. I was surprised at how these people knew nothing about me, yet wanted to help me.

One lady, in particular, happened to appear by my side while I lay on the concrete street from the collision impact.

She started praying over me and would not stop praying until the ambulance arrived.

At that moment, I became grateful and appreciative of my circumstances, even though I had just been in the worst accident of my life.

I knew that God had saved me. I’m so grateful that God allowed me to walk away with minor injuries and chronic back pain.

It’s funny how life works out.

Due to this devastating accident, I had to learn to heal and build my life back after such a traumatic event.

This is a short poem that compliments that healing journey.

I hope you enjoy it!

On about the month of May
This is the day
I could only hear
Not see.
Someone was watching over me
The sound of a heavenly voice
What is this poise?
A roaring sweet and gentle noise.
All alone she prayed
That I would be saved.
Me the gracious one,
After everything, I’ve done.
The loud sirens I could bear
I was in someone’s care
then I theorized, nothing was there
Only a spirit.
He came to save me.
And at this moment
I realized
God had won.
I am the chosen one
Again, he came to save me,
So I can be free
I am now on a higher degree.
